Claire has spoken at the Hay Festival and has two films in pre-production Mel Mackie Mel is a Senior Development Producer at Rock Oyster Media, working across Development and Production predominantly in Factual TV and documentaries for all the major UK broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, C5, Discovery & UKTV, including a Netflix Top 10 with Commando : Britain's Ocean Warriors. Alex Hanks Alex is a producer and director with experience spanning factual entertainment, specialist factual, and prime-time presenter-led content. With a proven track record of working with top talent, a strong background in casting, sourcing interesting locations, writing and conducting interviews working across all the major platforms including Channel 4, ITV, BBC, Nat Geo, and Channel 5. Clare Tavernor Clare is a writer and documentary filmmaker known for inquisitive, socially conscious storytelling. She directed landmark series on music, feminism, and class history for the BBC. Her projects include award-winning Rolling Stones series, an interactive doc Run The Jewels. Recently, filming a feature documentary with Metallica. Donsya Mordros Bunny Marie Ladd 7m 28 | UK The film abstractly reflects my folktale; 'Donsya Mordros' that begins as a story where sea foam crawls over itself to the shoreline and as the night is introduced it bursts and bubbles in a spectacle until the whole shoreline is bordered by ‘Geys’, the Cornish language word for ‘Jesters’ and perform Guize (deriving from Cornish language word ‘Geys’) dancing to celebrate the Mordros, a Cornish term meaning the 'sound of the sea.' in the spirit of pre-enlightenment narrative, I wanted to create an almost climactic, operatic, Fiesta of Cornwall that could work as both, an intimate relationship with the viewer and their own mind but also as a tale that creates a shared appreciation within a community, for the community. It was important to represent the encompassing lineage of the Cornish character alongside the staggering, natural beauty that gives Cornwall the sense of other; that means it has the unique heritage of folklore, recording our home and our people. The camera is used to both reveal and conceal the mysterious layers of light and colour in the filmmaker’s environment, leading all the time, moment by moment to a sense of visual meaning. The playful and disturbing music accompaniment underscores a sense of yearning and loss. The daughter looks slowly and illuminates the possibilities which remain wrapped in a sublime tension of being and possibility. The film touches on non-anthropocentric perspectives as I retreat into my dreams during lockdown, on the edge of a nightmarish realm of climate catastrophe.

Run by the Mor Media Charity team with partners across Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly in the run up to the 60th Anniversary of the disaster, with principal funding by the Heritage Lottery. THE SS TORREY CANYON OIL SPILL A powerful heritage and screen project retracing the story of the SS Torrey Canyon oil spill through archive, oral history, first-person accounts and film. THE PROJECT The 60th anniversary approaches of Britain’s worst shipping disaster, the SS Torrey Canyon supertanker, which ran aground off the western coast of Cornwall, spilling 100,000 tonnes of crude oil and making International headlines in 1967. Over the next two years, Mor Media Charity is set to document the stories of the spill and the clean-up operation that caused enormous damage to marine life, the livelihoods of local people and also changed the way people viewed the environment, galvanising Cornish communities, many of whom are now in their 70s. Black Tide carries profound significance for everyone, symbolising the ongoing evolution of our understanding of environmental impacts, especially those resulting from oil spills and their consequences on marine life, coastlines, and communities. Acknowledging this legacy enhances environmental awareness and accountability; it connects younger generations, families, and broader communities, emphasising the real and enduring effects of environmental disasters.This historical event calls for united action and responsible stewardship, motivating everyone to engage in creating a sustainable future.
